Various Notes

Here are some comments taken from local social media regarding food pantries:

  • 216 N. Washington St., Carbondale, 11-1 Fridays.
  • If you’re a resident of Jackson County, you can go to the Murphysboro food bank 1x a month which is Mon – Fri 9:00am-11:00am.
  • Murphysboro Food Pantry is fantastic. You can get a free bus at Carbondale Township building at 8:30. They will drop you off at your location.

  • University Baptist Church on Oakland is Monday and Friday from 9:00am-11:30am.
Their clothes closet is great. Especially for kid and men’s apparel.
  • In addition to food pantries, you might also join Carbondale Kitchen (To give & receive) if you haven’t already! It’s a group for people to request anything from missing ingredients to full meals. All FREE. Some members of the group are even willing to deliver.
  • Victory Dream Center recommended. Contact them right away to get a voucher for their Christmas giveaway.
  • The Baptist Church on the corner of Freeman and Oakland once a month or every Monday and Friday for produce!! The Dream Center every Wednesday from 10:30 until noon!!
